Activate Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on all sensitive accounts (Email, Banking, Social Media) as a critical security layer. This verification step is a minimum requirement to prevent credential stuffing attacks.
NEVER share your OTP, Passwords, or PINs. Treat every unsolicited call, email, or message asking for this information as fraudulent. Government/Bank officials will never ask for your confidential information. Be wary of Vishing (Voice Phishing) and Smishing (SMS Phishing).
Ensure your home Wi-Fi uses WPA2 or WPA3 encryption with a strong password. Avoid conducting financial transactions or accessing sensitive data on unsecured public Wi-Fi. Use a trusted VPN when connecting via public hotspots.
Apply security patches and system updates immediately. Outdated software is the primary vector for malware attacks. Enable automatic updates for OS, browsers, and antivirus software to close known vulnerabilities.
Do not download apps from unverified third-party sources. Exercise extreme caution before clicking on unexpected links or attachments. If you suspect fraud, report the incident immediately to the relevant cyber cell authorities and delete the suspicious item.
